Emma & Matt’s Summer Wedding at Rhosygilwen, Cardigan & Farm Festival Party!

I had such an awesome day with these guys. Emma and Matt said their I do’s in Rhosygilwen in Pembrokeshire, then afterward we headed to the ultimate family festival wedding on Emma’s family farm, it was epic!

The day started with bridal prep at Emma’s family home/riding stables, in the most amazing farmhouse and setting. Her dress was stunning, and second hand I should note, from Pritchard Moore. I love her for this, cos you know…the planet and all! Her makeup was by the lovely Phillipa Hughes and her hair by the fab Leah Hughes.

The wedding ceremony was held at Rhosygilwen, Pembrokeshire in The Oak Hall.

The Oak Hall has stunning oak beams high ceilings, and loads of light from the beautifully shaped windows. The hall also had great acoustics, which was very handy being that Matt serenaded Emma at the end of the ceremony! Have to say TBH I bloody love this venue for Pembrokeshire wedding photography.

Summer wedding couple

The Rhosygilwen Mansion is a Victorian estate, with a garden and a greenhouse (basically Downtown Abbey). On the day we didn’t have time to head to the greenhouse but used the manor and the garden as a backdrop for the couple photos, and the confetti shot. We also used the trees by The Oak Hall to capture some shaded group shots. After all the photos were taken at Rhosygilwen, Emma and Matt and I went back to the farm for some more photos, before heading to the ‘festival’!

Now, let’s talk about the festival wedding. Emma and Matt’s vision helped create a festival vibe, with various activities that catered for young and old. They also rocked up in an old school camper van from Van Kampres. So, there were 2 large tents/marquees and a tipi (from Tipi Marquee). The main tent was adorned with a Welsh dresser filled to the brim with cheese and crackers, along with welly flower pots, gold suitcases, and tables full of wine bottles along with help yourself bar just outside. There was no seating plan, so no headaches there. The other tent was for face painting for kids and afterward a whole lot of dancing to a DJ then the band 45RPM. The tipi was simply for chillaxing with the little ones. I love kids at weddings, and no one ever thinks of them, so good work.

There was a South African BBQ Bring and Braai, paying homage to Matt’s family roots. OMG, this was so good. And there were delicious wood-fired pizzas from pizza ria. Pretty Platters Pembs were also there all day topping up food for the Bridesmaids Brekkie, Kids picnic, and Nibbles display. And let’s not forget the wedding cake which was created by the boutique bakery Cake Carousel. To top it off we had the most amazing sunshine all day, and then an amazing sunset. The perfect festival wedding.

What more could you ask for in a day?!!

Ta, Christina.
